Upgraded my 2013 15" MacBook Pro to MacOS Sierra today. The screen colours appear way more blue

appearing way more blue. The screen also appears dimmer. I compared my computer against a colleagues (not on Mac OS Sierra) and sure enough my looks significantly different. There is a chance this was happening before the upgrade, but I only noticed right after upgrading which makes me think it's a Sierra thing.

Has this happened to any one else? It's a frustrating problem to have. I do design work and rely on having consistent colours.

There have been major changes to color support, extending the gamut and possibly extending the number of bits of color supported.

I suggest you use:

System preferences > Displays > Colors ...

... to calibrate your display under the new MacOS, and see if the results are acceptable.

I did try this. It is currently set to Colour LCD, which I believe is the default. I tried other options as well but nothing improves the colour unfortunately.
